US National Team Training and Preparation for Upcoming National Championships and International Competition

Explanation: These session are for Coaches and for Team Pool Members and Hopefuls!

US National Coach Training Seminar

The USJJF National Team for the World Championship in Spain will be selected from this Team Pool in the manner decided unanimously by the 2003 USJJF Congress. The team will be choosen by a selection committee and will depend on various factors: your perceived ability to win in international competition, your competitive record, your physical ability and conditioning, your attitude, etc. Some berths will be basically decided here and others around the time of the National Championships. The idea is to place the selection outside of possible administrative of refereeing misjudgments.

Pre-National Training Camp, Coaches and Athletes all Ranks and styles Welcome! Athletes will be given hands on explanation of rules as well as drills and conditioning exercises by National Coaching staff. Coaches will have the opportunity to have in depth explanation on rules to prepare their athletes by a certified Continental Referee. This hands on training is a must for those preparing to compete at the upcoming Nationals and a potential spot on the US Team traveling to Spain for the World Championships! Those interested in Duo Completion will also get an in-depth understanding of how the judging panel will base their score. This is an opportunity you don't want to MISS!!

For the athlete, this symposium will present 8 hours of training hands on in both the JJIF fighting System and the Duo Competition. Special consideration will be given in the rules of competition and strategy to win both nationally and internationally under the rule system.

For the coach, this symposium will include a 4 hour session on rules, training methods, psychology of coaching (age appropriate) and a 4 hour hands on training of techniques and tactics know to work well in international circles. Coaches attending will receive credit towards coaching accreditation with the USJJF.

All members of the active Coaching Staff are expected to attend the Coaching Sessions. Others can attend with permission from the Central Technical Committee.

All members of the Team Pool and Hopefuls are expected to attend the Coaching Sessions. All previous USJJF Team Members and National of International Champions are Members of the Team Pool. Others can attend with permission from the Central Technical Committee.

All members of the Team Selection Committee are expected to attend


Schedule:

Friday evening start at 6:00, June 4, 2004- Meeting with Previous Teams and Coaches with concentration on US Team Selection for 2004 USJJF Team selection for World Championship in Madrid Spain in November.

Saturday, June 5, 2004 - Work out under observation for ability, technique, understanding of JJIF Rules and other competitive advantages

Sunday 9 - 1:, June 6, 2004 - Coaching and team training


THE TEAM SELECTION COMMITTEE

The TEAMSELCOM members will be chosen from a variety of committee positions, from different parts of the country, different styles, and will include at least 5 persons. The Executive of the US Ju-Jitsu Federation will be ex-officio with no vote except in case of tie and the same with the Chair of the Central Technical Committee, who will oversee the Team Selection, appointing a qualified person to act as Chair for the selection of each specific event selection. Appointments to the TEAMSELCOM are in the sole control of the US Ju-Jitsu Federation Executive Board.
